The 200-year-old, lovingly renovated house in the ‘creusoise’ style is located in the idyllic hamlet of Le Saintoux (12 inhabitants) in the Limousin region, at an altitude of 750 metres in the department of ‘La Creuse’, also known as ‘Little Canada’. The house is south-facing and extends over two floors and a converted attic.

Upon entering, the spacious eat-in kitchen impresses with old oak furniture and a wood-burning cooker next to the gas hob, which makes the kitchen self-sufficient. The adjoining large living room has an open granite fireplace with warm air ducting to the upper floor. A beautiful wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where there are three bright bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The converted attic offers a large bedroom, an entrance hall with bathroom and toilet, as well as a living and social room with a Swedish stove.

Facilities include central oil heating, hot water via the heating system or through the 3 phase electrical heating, telephone connection and a satellite dish. There are TV connections on each floor. The garage contains a small workshop and the heating system.

One of the outbuilding of the house features the eight-metre deep well with pump for gardening needs, the other outbuildng serves as a firewood store and storage area. Parking space for at least 3 cars is available.

The large meadow (1,600 m²) surrounds the house, with tall spruce trees at the edge of the property and a vegetable and herb garden next to the house.


In addition, there is a modern, exclusive eco tiny house made of hand-planed wood in the garden, which has not yet been fully completed (for health reasons). Particularly suitable for allergy sufferers, it offers an excellent indoor climate thanks to 12cm of hemp insulation. The tiny house is fitted with underfloor protection and insulation and has all the necessary connections as well as an LED ceiling light and a bathtub. It has been prepared for the installation of an outdoor kitchen and veranda. The tiny house also does not yet have an installed door, but this is yet to be fitted.

The landscape here, also known as ”Le Plateau de Millevaches” or ”The Plateau of a Thousand Springs”, is enchanting with its unspoilt and beautiful nature. The dreamy bathing lake ”Lac de Vassivière” with its small island is just 20 minutes away.

Le Saintoux offers a peaceful and idyllic setting, while the nearest shopping facilities can be found in Felletin (approx. 2,000 inhabitants), around 10 km away. There is a special weekly market there every Friday, which is well-known and popular far beyond the region. Felletin also has two supermarkets, an organic food shop, butchers, bakers, doctors, a pharmacy and other shops for everyday needs. The next largest town, Aubusson, famous for its ”Tapisserie d’Aubusson”, is only 20 kilometres away from Le Saintoux. Limoges, a larger city, is 80 km away.

Sports activities in the region are varied and include hiking, canoeing, boating, swimming, cycling, cross-country skiing, horse riding, paragliding, fishing and much more.
